I am honest here, my ISP is shitting on me, I have no reliable internet (only tethering with 64kbits) and I can not help it a lot. I wanted to ask if you guys mind it a lot if I postpone the entire TWC by 1 week (respectively 1 weekend), so the drawings may be streamed by someone else, we have more time to form teams properly (and not in haste) and the actual tournament itself can be hosted by myself fluently and fine.
Before I just decide to postpone it, I wanted to hear the public opinion about that. Stuff is rough for me right now, I don't want to cry super much about it, but it's a plain fact that I am lacking of ressources to host the TWC as I actually planned to do. (I had to switch ISP since my current one decided to be unable to provide me the service I ordered. It was planned to be back two weeks ago already, which was not possible and today I finally switched after a final attempt of my old ISP to get shit running - which failed.)

Loctav if you ever need any help or something I can always assist you, given you'll accept my help. The Taiko community are brothers no matter what, a week of postponing if you need it is fine. Whatever helps you make this tournament a success, is ok with us. Not to speak as a leader for an entire community, certainly one which i've had a strange history with, but as long as you are giving it your all instead of making excuses, certainly it is no problem. I commend your honesty with us instead of just deciding to do things, it can make a world of difference with your community if you're open with them.

Hello everybody! As I predicted, I have to postpone the entire TWC by one week. Therefore, every stage will be one weekend later than actually planned. The streaming of the drawings will be taken over by some helping hand. I try my best to get back fully soon (12th Feb is the scheduled setup by my new ISP), meanwhile I try to compile and check all registrations and will the declared captains as soon as possible!
I will update the wiki and news announcement now.
Moreover, since I need to look into every single registration - and as my possibilities are quite restricted right now - I can not reopen the registration phase itself. I am very sorry for that and hope for your understanding. Right now, I have 118 individual registrations from 20 different countries.
As I can predict, it will most likely be a tournament consisting of 20 or 16 teams, smaller than last year, unfortunately. We will most likely stay with 3v3, but I can not give out definite answers yet. Moreover, we have no Japanese players. Maybe they missed it or had no interest? It's surprising, I expected a huge bunch of Japanese sign ups, there are a lot of players available - maybe someone can investigate?

A lot of teams have only 3 players. That's not good. That means if one person is missing, the other team wins by forfeit. Can't you allow team captains to go and fill their teams to the maximum 6?

TM didn't form the teams. Loctav sent the list of all participants to be checked and some of them have been rejected, that's why we have less players in teams that players that actually ed. And as you can have 6players per teams, if your country only get 6 or less validated player the team is obviously completed automatically.
Reasons for rejection will not be made public, so the best thing to do is that concerned players (rejected ones) send an email directly to TM to try to clarify the situation. Trust me it makes me feel sad as well but starting a drama here based on assumptions is not the right thing to do atm.

People breaking the of services have been preliminarily filtered, as well as people who had a ranking below #8000. You may say majority of the teams were formed by me, this is true, but this only applied to those who had less than 6 ed s anyways. Why should I ask a TM to pick 5 people from a list that only consists of 5 people or even less?

Not allowing cheaters is obvious, I guess. Filtering these people has been done for 3 years already. Whoever got filtered knows very well why. Who claims otherwise, blatantly lies.

So not allowing a country or two to participate because it's more convenient to run the tournament with 16 countries instead of 18 isn't wrong at all. I just read the tournament rules carefully, and I didn't found a single word about " of Service", "Multi" or so.
If some of the applicants have broken the ToS, peppy should take care of them applying the current Osu! ruleset and the staff of this tournament should take care of his own rules.
Because of this, applying a simple rule inherit system, this tournament staff can't keep out an with multi (for example) because following Osu! rules their multi should have been erased long time ago (You even itted you know their multis by rejecting them), not banning their primary .
If even with this staff keeps rejecting more s, Spain (and not just Spain) will leave TWC 2015.

Having multis place you with appropriate consequences. That we reject players due to ToS violation has been done for three years already and you never had a problem with it.
This is an official tournament. If you wish to participate in officla tournaments, you have to at least respect the simple of services you agreed on when g up to osu!. We do not let people participate in tournaments we invest in, if they can not even follow our simple ruleset. It's not much we want. We just want you to stop shitting on the community, the staff and our rules if you want to take part in something we put effort in.
Keep in mind that we only pay attention to offenses happened within the last year. If you stop disrespecting our rules now, you can freely participate next year.

Hey guys, Mr Color here coming in a little bit before this whole ordeal starts. As you guys know I'll be once more taking part in the play-by-play commentary for the event. I just wanted to introduce myself to the community once again in the middle of all the pre-cup drama. If you guys want to send me any pointers of things you feel I should mention on air about certain players, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as the maps that will be used, I will of course be studying up to offer the most insightful commentary possible, but I won't refuse a little help doing that, so by all means feel free to hit me up with a forum PM and I'll make sure to note down any interesting info you guys will send my way.

The motivation is absolutely there (@Arrival) but all of them have either too less players (e.g. Ukraine), misunderstood the rules (e.g. Japan), don't have time (e.g. Netherlands) or their players got retired (e.g Russia). Some didn't even know about the TWC since they missed the information. So it's less about the motivation and more about the other things. I will also give a little transparency to you guys, so you are more certain about what has been done before (to come to Nashmuns suggestion):

Countries not having enough players are myths. A LOT of people doesn't want to because they think they'll loose anyway. Along the year I've been told hundred of times that countries like Italy don't have any players and that we should allow multicountries team, and what do we see here ? An Italian team within the 16participant.
Even Hungary could gather a team because they had the motivation to, don't tell me countries like Russia/Ukraine/Brazil do not have enough player, I know by fact they have.

I absolutely agree with that. I've just put the information in a compact way. But even so, there is more than that sometimes - proud, certain rules, wrong view about mappools and more. There are more factors which effect the opinion of players in a country. I ecountered alot of them. So I think it is also about how we represent this TWC?
Well when you have the motivation you're able to find players (Please, Ukraine has 10 players in the Top #4K), or to find "time" (hey the whole NL team doesn't have the time, although all the other countries can , really ?). As explained by peppy, we decided to extend the registration phase for another two weeks. Make sure to this competition to your friends and everyone who is a potential candidate for your country's team

All other parts of the tournaments will be, obviously, postponed according to this. We are sorry for the incovenience, but we want to make this TWC the best it can be.
As more countries and people are ing this competition, we are increasing the maximum number of teams. Whoever didn't appear on the team listing so far (Chile and Hungary) will be added later. We want to await more registrations from said countries.
How does the registration work exactly now? 26355k
- Everyone is g up individually for their country by sending a forum PM to me.
- We roughly filter the ed s by their play performance and/or if they violated the osu! community rules (see below for details)
- Whenever we finished filtering the ed s, the players who ed will be put on a candidate list for their country
- The Tournament Management declares a captain from said list. This captain receives the list with the remaining candidates. Captains can freely pick from this list and found their team as they wish.
- After sending the Tournament Management the compiled team, your team has been successfully created.

We filter by:
- Taiko performance ranking. Whoever has a global Taiko performance ranking below #8000 will be filtered out. While we want to let participate as many people as possible, the mappools are designed around a certain difficulty level. It's very likely that people below a performance ranking below #8000 will not be able to play the tournament's maps at all. If they improve, they are free to !
- Violation of the community rules: https://osu-ppy-sh.zoneani.me/wiki/Rules - In order to take part on any official tournament that is sponsored and organized by the osu!staff, you need to obey the community rules. Even though violating some of these specific rules do not lead to a full ban immediately, we still exclude everyone who offended within the last year. This includes creating multi-s, sharing your with others or using third-party software or other illegal software modifications. Not every rule is directly involved into the tournament outcome, but as long as you can not follow the community rules, we are not willing to let you an official competition. We would like to mention that we have been holding that requirement up for several years already and have been performed these checks ever since then. This is nothing new and moreover nothing arbitrary. We just want to inform you again that ing the TWC has these requirements. If you ever want to compete in the TWC, we advise you to stop violating the rules now.
