I'm really happy I can present you this community-made osu IRC client, which I made with my friend gamelaster.
I'm glad another person helped us with updates, so he's a second programmer. Thanks Hallowatcher!
I'm the designer and "CEO" of this project, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Sure, but I'll have to talk about this with the programmer. ^^
If it won't be open-sourced, we will at least release an API which could be used to make custom skins and other features.

If you're going to blatantly ask for money, please don't use our official designs, trademarks, colour palettes, logos etc.

It's going against the licence it was released under (AGPL for some items, complete copyright for others).

Dear peppy,

thank you for opening this thread once again after the discussion through e-mail.

I want to announce the changes to everyone:
- No donate button
- New "About" button where you can find credits
- GNU v3 license
- Name changes (from osu!irc to "irc4osu!")
- We will also release a source of this client via GitHub

- Name has already been changed from osu!irc to irc4osu!
- Donation button already removed
- Design is recoded into the app, we are working on the functions right now - that means you will see first public build in few days
- Added credits & license info in "About" tab.
- Minor changes in design (especially the country channel tab)
- We've also created a GItHub repository already, which will be available along with the first public build

We are finishing with some minor changes. If it won't be done in few days, I'll release the source so everyone can do whatever they want with it.
If that happens, I'll continue with for the design aspect at least.

How about the android version of it? Because it is the one I am waiting for hehehe

Hello everyone,
I was just testing some things with it, unfortunately I wasn't able to reach the programmer.
However, I can show you guys another little preview just so you can see I'm trying my best even without the programmer.
It means that the project's not dead. Unfortunately it will probably just take a while without him. If you are experienced in Electron, feel free to PM me.

I finally find out time to make a progress, app now is almost release candidate of alpha version, but it still need a some work!

Just wondering, why not use html5 and just use something like PhoneGap to easily every phone platform. For desktop OSs it would be more easier to implement. You can use chrome. (Forgot how but it's used by some apps)

It already works on HTML5 under Electron (electron.atom.io), so don't worry about that, it already works that way.

Then for the phone apps you can use PhoneGap by adobe. (Unless you use nodejs for the irc implementation I guess)

Well, yeah, but there is a little problem. Library what I use (node-irc) is NodeJS only and Apache Cordova/PhoneGAP doesnt have of Node libraries, and I think the browserify (conversion into a pure JS) will work on this... So phone version will be harder.. We will see ^^

Try the releases tab - there is an older test version available.

However, if you are able to compile the source, you can compile latest source files by yourself.

Nope, I edited the main topic last month so you should expect some more builds at the end of this month, hovewer I'm not sure if we can make it since my motherboard died yesterday.

Hey, just a small info:
The update might be delayed a bit but we got plenty of new features done and we want to release them in one huge update!

Those things include:
- Night Mode
- Settings
- About
- Player hover info

and much more!

Will the Android version be released soon? There are many features that apps like AndChat/AndroIRC do not have, it'd be amazing to have them.
Some of the features it'd be cool to have are
• Look at your online friends & their status
• for osu! "/" or "!" commands

- Double chat which occured for some people
- Random JS errors
- Word wrapping when someone uses a REALLY LONG word.

Months ed after the last update, but the project wasn't really dead. We are working as hard as we can to deliver new updates for you. Expect more updates in the near future along with the new chat API which we can use as our framework for mobile devices.

Played a bit with it tonight and encountered a funny "feature" with pm.

I can correctly send pm to people (could be cool to automatically replace space by _ when writing the friend name btw) but their answer all goes to the same channel. The weird stuff is that this channel is a pm with myself.
Restarting or closing the pm's tab don't fix it.

The "view " button also doesn't work but not sure if it was already reported.
Cool stuff anyway continue with it :p

I used the "+" button actually.

1°) Used it to open one with ghm12
2°) Did the same to open one with myself (by writing my own name)
3°) Was receiving his messages in the #Krah tab but I could still use the #Ghm12 tab to send messages to him.

Thanks for our new contributor Hallowatcher who helped us a lot this time.

New features:
- You can click on nicknames, it will take you to their profile
- New /pm command, you can use it for pm messages (/pm nickname text)
- New link parser (should work with multiple links now)
- Notifications should work without any problems now (except one grammar mistake which will be resolved in next update)
- You can now hover player nicknames and it will show their stats

- Link design changed
- Removed experimental CSS property

Bugfixes:
- Dragging pan is fixed and shouldn't cause any bugs
- Added min size to avoid scroll bug
- Added some more bugs so we can say that we fixed even more bugs

Q&A, News - November 2016

Me & gamelaster finally had the opportunity to meet each other in real life. We knew each other for about 5 years yet we never met each other until yesterday.
We had a huge discussion of course , to be honest, we talked about irc4osu! a lot too, as you can see in this photo:

You can see a little sneak peek with bug fixed and new features coming in next versions of irc4osu!.
We're also patiently waiting for the new chat API to be available so we can use even more osu! features and make this client the best one for osu!.
Some of these things were kinda critical so we fixed them asap, also new features are coming such as:
- Chatlogs
- Notification sound
- Bugfixes

and we added some more bugs which we can fix later.

Also thanks to our contributor Hallowatcher, which made a lot of things already.



Also, it's been a while (more than a week) since I responded to every single question here, so it's time to do this and answer all your replies.

We'll probably wait for the new API until the Android will version will be released.
Online friends: We are implementing this now, but just "sort of" since IRC client aren't really capable of such a thing as friend management, but we already implemented an online status of person you're texting with. It should be available within the next update.
for osu commands: We're working on this too already, yet we've only implemented the /pm and & /msg commands. More of them are coming soon.

Thanks for your bug report. I'm sorry I didn't answer earlier but I already told the programmers about this and they fixed the aliases already. (names with underscores).
Thanks to this we fixed another bug too, which hasn't been reported yet, thanks!
About the "view s" button - the feature is not implemented yet as it's a really pre-release alpha build.

Dude, you should learn what a bump is and when to use it:
a bump it's something you do after a long period of time regarding something you add more info or details about, not just "I want this"

We have so much things going on and we would like to share them with you. We have been working really hard on this since you guys are interested in this project. That made us work on some new things where you can provide us more and so on. That comes to the first thing I want to talk about.

DISCORD SERVER
We made a discord server where you can submit us some , talk with us about the development or just hang out with your friends. You'll also get more info there since I post all the news on discord before posting them on forums. That includes random screenshots of the client etc.



CLIENT NEWS
We made a really big progress towards the next version. This might be the state where we enter beta as well, since we fixed many bugs, added a lot of things and the client should now be a lot more reliable. If you want to have a sneak-peek of what we did for this update, you're at the right place.

So far we're working on these things:
- Secure
- Translations (Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Polish, German and Spanish for now)
- Friend management (as you can see in the title)
- Notification sounds
- Minimize to tray
- Tray management along with options
- Various bug fixes
- Minor design changes

TRANSLATIONS
We need you to translate our client to every language that's not listed yet. You'll be also mentioned in the OP for helping us.
If you want to translate our client, feel free to me via PM or via Discord (discord preferred).
