I recently swapped from mouse to tablet, and I'm wondering if anyone has advice for alleviating hand pain/strain. I've been playing with it for about a month and figured I should be used to it by now. I also notice my index finger feeling numb at random points while playing.

My grip is the same way most people would hold a pen for writing. Paper towel wrapped around for grip. I try to play with as little tension in my hand as possible. Area is 90 x 50

Any advice at all would be super appreciated. I'm willing to try anything just don't know where to start. Ty in advance <3

Pen grip should not feels like hurting yourself

I do also adapt my writing grip to my pen tablet (four-fingered grip, thumb is retracted). If you feel like you need a lot of ten and movement, reducing your area would be the fix. Try with -5mm in width and with locked aspect ratio of 1.77 for 16:9 ratio monitor. Regardless, you should relax your hand as much as possible. Try to see if you're more comfortable with hover or dragging.

idk much but If I had the same problem i'd just find a new grip by playing the game with sloppy/loose grip and then make it more firm day by day

Thank you! I'll see how reducing my area goes. Should relaxing my hand be easier with a smaller area?

Hovering feels very strange so I've avoided trying it out for longer then 30 seconds.

Your index finger only feels numb? That's kind of weird.

Unironically, you could tell ChatGPT your symptoms, and it might be able to help you (although, of course, it is not a medical professional). I , I had numbness in my pinky, ring and part of my middle finger of my aim hand. I told ChatGPT, and it said if a nerve in my elbow was compressed, it could cause such symptoms. I started raising my elbow, and lo and behold my fingers stopped going numb.

That is so interesting, I'll try that! I'm glad you were able to fix your issue! :D
