Beatmap packs have been an integral part of the osu! community since their first introduction by Saturos way back in 2008, in which some of the packs were tied to certain achievements out there. However, as osu! and its community continued to grow over the years, the mapping meta at large has also undergone a major shift from its early days and — due to a huge demand from the public — on 16 January 2016 a major overhaul was made to numerous beatmap packs in order to keep them, as a whole, relevant with the times. 373l37
